Yeongju itineraries
Seowon morning, Buseoksa sunset
Catch the morning KTX-Eum from Cheongnyangni and you are under the pines at Sosu Seowon before lunch, then leaning on the Anyangnu railing at Buseoksa as the sun drops behind the Sobaek ridges. If Yeongju gets one day, this is the order.
Punggi hot spring, Buseoksa dawn
Day one: off the train at Punggi, the ginseng market, a Sobaeksan waterfall and a long soak in the hot spring. Day two: Buseoksa before the tour buses. Light on walking, so it suits parents.
Log bridge to Sobaeksan
With a car you can stitch Yeongju together from the river in the south to the mountains in the north: a day on the Museom riverbank, a day of seowon and Buseoksa, then Sobaeksan and a hot spring to finish.
