You pass the main gate, climb the ginkgo-lined path and switch back up a few flights of stone steps to reach the courtyard of Muryangsujeon. Turn around and the Sobaek ridges roll away in layers. At dusk they go from orange to violet, and the people standing in the yard hardly talk. It is a UNESCO World Heritage temple, with halls stepping up the slope. In autumn the approach glows yellow with ginkgo leaves.
