You learn why Wonju is hanji country with both eyes and hands. The exhibition hall walks through how the paper was made and used, then the workshop lets you scoop a sheet yourself. Lifting wet mulberry fibre out of the vat on a frame is oddly addictive, and kids queue for it. There are craft sessions too, such as hanji flower frames and patterned paper, so you leave with something in hand. It fits neatly into half a day.
