This was the office of the governor who ruled Gangwon Province in the Joseon era. The Seonhwadang hall in the courtyard dates to 1665 and is said to be the only surviving building of its kind. After restoration, lights were set along the buildings, walls and trees, so the mood changes after dark. Entry is free and it stays open until 10pm, which makes it an easy evening stroll. Free hanbok rental is also offered.
