A 483-metre tunnel runs under the narrow strait between downtown and Mireukdo. It was dug over sixteen months from 1931 and finished in 1932, making it one of the older undersea tunnels. It is now a walking route, so you can stroll without worrying about cars. Before it, Mireukdo could only be crossed on foot at low tide, which makes the walk feel different. A tourist information office stands at the Dang-dong entrance.
