Jeon Hyeok-rim Museum of Art

전혁림미술관

A blue museum faced with 7,500 ceramic tiles

Address
10 Bongsu 1-gil, Tongyeong

The museum opened in 2003 on the site of the house where Tongyeong painter Jeon Hyeok-rim lived. Its outer walls are covered in more than 7,500 ceramic tiles fired with paintings by Jeon and his son Jeon Yeong-geun, so the building looks like an artwork itself. His deep blue echoes the sea at Tongyeong. The Bongsu-gol neighbourhood turns into a cherry-blossom street in April, and a small bookshop sits nearby. It makes an easy stop on the way to the cable car.
