Admiral Yi set up his naval headquarters on this island from 1593. A forest path from the pier leads to Jeseungdang and the portrait shrine. The lookout pavilion on the hill, Suru, overlooks the water and recalls the poem he wrote here. The grounds are big enough that a slow walk takes half a day. The ferry ride is half the fun, so it works well as a day trip.
