This was the training ground of the soldiers who guarded Hwaseong, at the east command post. A red-columned pavilion sits at the back of a wide lawn, and there is a traditional archery range on one side where you can shoot a bow. The tour train also leaves from in front of the ticket office. It lies at the east end of the wall, so it is quiet and open, a nice place to rest while walking the fortress.
