A dozen or so fried-chicken shops cluster in the lanes east of Paldalmun. Some date back to the 1970s, when chickens were fried at street stalls, and one opened in 1982. Frying whole birds in a cauldron is the street's tradition, and the menu leans on plain fried and seasoned chicken. Many shops add gizzards on the house. Suwon Wang-galbi Tongdak, made famous by the film Extreme Job, is in the neighbourhood. A common plan is Paldalmun, the market and the palace, then dinner here.
