The west command post of Hwaseong sits at the very top of Paldalsan. Its two-storey pavilion stands out from afar, and it was where the commander looked down over his troops. Standing here you see the wall ridge run toward the city. You walk up a forest path from Paldalmun or the palace; the climb is short and shaded. Go near sunset for the city in evening light.
