King Jeongjo stayed here when he visited the tomb of his father, Prince Sado. You enter through the plaza at Sinpungnu, and buildings stack up deep behind a wide courtyard. In 1795 his mother Lady Hyegyeong celebrated her 60th birthday banquet in Bongsudang hall. Much of it was torn down under Japanese rule, and the palace was rebuilt and reopened in 2003. Walking it slowly from gate to back takes about an hour.
