Around Hwaseomun-ro 72beon-gil, Paldal-gu, Suwon

Painted lanes run through the old houses next to Hwaseong Haenggung. Mud walls, front gates and even window holes became canvases: a huge fish swims along one wall, and others carry mazes, a dalgona game or spot-the-difference puzzles. A signboard at the entrance shows the mural map. The lanes are paved flat and easy to stroll. Many people continue west to the workshop and café lanes known as Haengridan-gil.
