A Joseon-era walled town whose 1,410 m of wall still encloses the whole village. Wall and town were designated a historic site together, the first such case in Korea. Residents still live in the thatched lanes, and there are hands-on sessions in blacksmithing, gayageum and woodblock carving. Period dramas have filmed here, so the walk can feel like stepping onto a set. Circle the wall and the thatched roofs spread out below you.
