Built in 1957, the white lighthouse still guides ships at night. A wooden boardwalk threads through a bamboo grove to the top, where the observation deck is open. From there you see the East Sea, the birds on Cheongcho Lake and the Seorak ridgeline. It costs nothing, and anyone can climb while it is open.
