The biggest traditional market in Seoul, going back to the Joseon era. Thousands of shops sell clothes, kitchenware, glasses, ginseng and stationery across buildings and alleys. At lunchtime many people eat in the kalguksu noodle lane or the braised hairtail lane. Sungnyemun (Namdaemun) gate is a short walk away. Many shops close on Sundays.
