Imjingak Park on the Imjin River northwest of Seoul is the best-known stop close to the armistice line. You see Freedom Bridge, barbed wire hung thick with ribbons, and observatories that look across to the North. Most visitors join a DMZ tour that continues to the Third Tunnel and Dora Observatory. Passports are required and photo rules in military areas are strict. It takes a whole day, so start early.
