Sancheong itineraries
Herb village and stone-wall lanes
Sancheong's two most-visited spots, Donguibogam Village and Namsa Yedamchon, in one day: a herb park in the morning, medicinal chicken soup for lunch, then slow laps of the stone-walled lanes.
Two days under Jirisan
Stays in the Deoksan valley at Jirisan's foot in Sancheong's southwest: the scholar Nammyeong's study and shrine, a nunnery reached along a stream, and a night of glamping at Jungsan-ri. The closest you get to Jirisan without a hike.
Three days: Hwangmaesan to Haeinsa
Loops Sancheong's north and east and crosses into neighbouring Hapcheon: market and herb village on day one, the Hwangmaesan plateau and Haeinsa on day two, Namsa's stone lanes to finish. Best in May for azaleas or October for silver grass.
