A small shrine stands on a seaside slope, and carved wooden and stone phalluses line the pine paths. The park grows out of a village legend: a drowned girl, a failed fishing season, then good catches once carvings were offered. A fishing-village museum on site shows old nets and boats. Going with kids can mean awkward explanations.
