The buckwheat-flower village from a classic story
⚠ Peak bloom early Sept
- Hours
- About 9am-5:30pm; later in summer
- Address
- Lee Hyo-seok-gil, Bongpyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang
This village behind the Bongpyeong market is the setting of the short story "When the Buckwheat Blooms". In early September the fields turn white and the paths look salted. The Lee Hyo-seok museum inside holds the writer's manuscripts, and the old mill and birthplace site are a short walk away. Outside bloom season it is a quiet village stroll.
