Found in 1978, this is one of the tunnels the North dug under the border. You put on a hard hat and walk down a slope while the granite walls, still marked by drill and blast, close in. The path ends at a steel barrier toward the military line. It sits in a civilian-control zone, so ID is checked and photos are allowed only in set spots. Many visitors do it as part of a DMZ route with a nearby observatory.
