Boriam sits on a cliff just below the summit of Mt. Geumsan. From the courtyard the islands of the southern sea spread out below, and at dawn the sun comes up over the horizon. It is about a 20-minute climb from the ticket office, so it feels like a light hike. Many people stand a long time in front of the sea-facing Buddha statue just looking out.
