This is where a portrait of Yi Seong-gye, founder of Joseon, is kept. It started in 1410, burned in the Japanese invasions and was rebuilt in 1614. A bamboo path and wide courtyards make it the calmest walk in the hanok village. The Royal Portrait Museum holds the original painting and is covered by the same ticket. In 2026 the main hall is being repainted, so the area behind the inner gate is closed.
