Geumsansa Temple

금산사

A large temple whose Mireukjeon hall is a National Treasure

Said to have been founded in 599 or 600 under King Beop of Baekje. Mireukjeon, a three-storey hall, is National Treasure No. 62, and the whole building is essentially one room for the Maitreya Buddha. It sits at the foot of Moaksan, so autumn colour is the best time. It runs a temple stay programme too. It connects to the descent from the top of Moaksan.
