A lake that dates back to Goryeo times was turned into a city park in the late 1970s. It is known as Jeonju’s best spot for lotus flowers. You walk across a long bridge over the pond and can visit the hanok-style Yeonhwajeong library on the water. Summer evenings have a musical fountain, and duck boats are available. It lies north of the centre, opposite the hanok village, so it suits a separate half day.
