Jeongseon itineraries
Market day in Jeongseon town
Land on a market day (dates ending in 2 or 7) and you fill a whole day without a car: wander the stalls, slurp a bowl of kongduchigi, hear the arirang up close, then watch the town from a cafe window before heading home.
Rail bike and Hwaam Cave
Day one pedals the old rail line from Gujeolli down to Auraji; day two goes from cliff-edge pines into a gold-mine cave. The north and east of Jeongseon by car, with one night in a hanok.
From the coal ridges to Auraji
The gondola and 1,300 m ridge above Sabuk and Gohan, a temple and pass on the flank of Hambaeksan, then the market town and the river landing at Auraji. Two nights crossing Jeongseon south to north.
