You can see it from almost anywhere on Jeju. From Seongpanak it is 9.6 km one way to Baengnokdam, and the first few hours are an easy walk through cedar and bamboo grass. Past the Jindallaebat shelter the stone steps begin, and the moment the trees stop, the wind turns. At the top you look over the crater lake to the whole island and the sea around it. If the summit feels like too much, the Yeongsil or Eorimok trails to Witse Oreum still give you the high moorland.
