Giant Bronze Age tombstones on the UNESCO list
- Address
- Ganghwa-daero area, Hajeom-myeon, Ganghwa, Incheon
Bronze Age dolmens are scattered across Ganghwa Island, and the one at Bugeun-ri in Hajeom-myeon is the largest. A capstone more than six metres long rests on two upright slabs in the middle of an open field, in the northern style. In 2000 it was listed by UNESCO together with the dolmens at Gochang and Hwasun. The Ganghwa History Museum nearby shows models of how they were built.
