Three old mansions, known as the Sambuja houses, sit among stone-wall lanes at the foot of Mt. Wau. You can walk from the Jo Hae-yeong, Kim An-gyun and Yi Bae-won houses one by one. High walls and wide yards show how grand life once was here. Stories tied to the writer Heo Gyun linger in the village. An hour or two at a slow pace is plenty.
