The observatory stands on the hill above the Ttangkkeut village pier. You can walk up, but most people queue for the monorail. From the top, island after island of the southern archipelago stacks up, and on clear days the horizon runs toward Jeju. Down on the shore, a marker stone announces the southern end of the peninsula. Snap your photo, then watch the ferries to Nohwado and Bogildo from the pier.
