A seated Buddha fills a stone-built chamber halfway up Mt. Tohamsan. You look through glass and cannot go close, but the soft light on the face and the carved reliefs under the round ceiling stay with you. The Buddha faces east, toward the sea. Photography is not allowed inside, so you just have to look. Most people pair it with Bulguksa by bus.
