King Munmu dug this pond in 674 beside the crown prince's palace. In the Joseon era it was called Anapji; the older name Wolji has now been restored. The rebuilt pavilions around the water look best after dark, reflected upside down. By day it is a loop around the pond; at night lights trace the roof lines. Photographers take over the whole edge in the evening.
