About 30 minutes by car from Gwangju you reach Gasamunhak-myeon. Siyeongjeong is a pavilion on a small hill over the water, and Soswaewon, a Joseon-era garden of bamboo and little pavilions laid out along a stream, is a short walk away. The Korean Gasa Literature Museum sits between them, a handy place to rest. Half a day is enough for all three.
