Gurye itineraries
Hwaeomsa to Saseongam at dusk
Four of Gurye's signature spots strung on one line. Tilt your head back under Gakhwangjeon in the morning, then watch the Seomjin turn orange from the cliff at Saseongam. The fullest single day you can start straight from the station.
Sandong hot spring, then Nogodan
Day one ambles through the market, a quiet temple and the arboretum, then you sleep at the hot spring. Day two starts at Seongsamjae for the walk up Nogodan. Northern Gurye, ending in sansuyu blossom in spring or Piagol maples in autumn.
Gurye and Hadong along the Seomjin
Grill by the river at a pension, cross into Hadong on day two for Hwagae Market and Ssanggyesa, and finish with a morning at Hwaeomsa. Little walking, lots of slow driving: made for travelling with parents.
