A big traditional market close to Gongsanseong fortress. Snack stalls selling hotteok, fried chicken, rice cakes and japchae dumplings fill the alleys. Gongju is chestnut country, so chestnut snacks are everywhere. Soup shops inside serve blood sundae with rice. A night market called Bammaeul has run on Friday and Saturday evenings in past years.
