When the tide goes out, the west-coast mud stretches away and you can dig for clams. Crouch with a small hoe for a while and palm-sized shells start turning up. Nothing runs in the rain, and most activities pause in winter. The hours you can go out depend on the tide. The summer Gochang Mudflat Festival is held around here too.
