Island, France, Garden

First time in Gapyeong? These are the three. A ferry to the island in the morning, a lakeside French village after lunch, and a garden walk as the light goes soft. All in one day from Seoul.

A Night on the River

Stay around Gapyeong station and the day fills itself: a rail bike, market buckwheat noodles, flower fields on Jaraseom, a riverside resort. Day two is a walk up Yongchu valley with the water for company.

Lake to Pine Forest

Start at Cheongpyeong lake and Seorak in the south, climb through the pine forests of Sangmyeon, and finish at Yeoninsan in the north. Two nights, two different corners of Gapyeong.
