Lee Naebeon, a descendant of Prince Hyoryeong, built it, and the house grew over about ten generations as a late-Joseon gentry estate. It is a National Folk Cultural Heritage site. Main halls, women's quarters and servants' wings spread out wide, and the best-known corner is Hwallaejeong, a pavilion over a lotus pond. The name refers to the boats once used to cross Gyeongpo Lake to reach it. Each courtyard is laid out differently, and the longer you walk, the more you feel its size.
