One block off the main road, low walls and old tiled roofs line the lanes, along with Japanese-era houses. Cafes like Owol, in a converted house, and Chil Coffee, in a former inn, sit tucked between them. Myeongju Art Madang has a small stage and a courtyard for a rest. Wander without a map and you will pass a couple of cafes before you know it.
