The observatory stands on a hill near the northern tip of the civilian control zone. Look through the telescopes upstairs and a village and fields across the river come up surprisingly close. Exhibits tell of the division and of displaced families. On clear days the ridges toward Kaesong are said to show. The walk up from the car park is a real slope.
