The temple sits on the slope of Mt. Nakgasan, uphill from the gate. A long stair leads to a 9.2 m Buddha carved into the cliff under a brow-like rock in 1928, looking out over the western sea. People gather around sunset when the water turns red. It is windy up there, so bring a jacket.
