At the top of Gwanbong, a seated stone Buddha wears a wide flat slab on its head like a hat. Word that it grants one wish has pulled prayer-goers up here, especially before exam season. The stair-heavy climb takes around an hour, and the summit opens onto Palgongsan and the Daegu side. There are people on the path even at dawn and dusk.
