A 1,500-year-old temple on Palgongsan's slope

A large temple on the southern slope of Palgongsan. Tradition says it was founded in 493, and that during a rebuilding in 832 paulownia flowers bloomed in winter, giving it the name Donghwasa. A forest path from the entrance leads past lanterns and halls to the Unification Medicine Buddha statue sitting against the mountain. Many people link it with the cable car and Gatbawi for a Palgongsan day.
