The observatory sits on the slope of Apsan, the mountain that screens Daegu's south side. The cable car climbs in about five minutes, then you walk roughly 200 metres to the 510-metre deck. The city spreads out below like a basin, and on clear days the Palgongsan ridge shows far off. Many people go up near sunset to watch the city lights come on.
