From mid-October into early spring, migratory birds gather until the water is covered with them. Spoonbills, whooper swans and white-naped cranes show up. The second-floor deck at the Ramsar Culture Center has telescopes, so you don't need gear. The best moment is sunrise, when birds lift off through the mist.
