The trains stopped in 2006, but the tracks stayed, and cherry trees line about 800m of them. When petals fall they drift across the rails like snow, and people wander between the sleepers taking photos. An old carriage parked along the line makes a ready-made backdrop. During the festival you shuffle shoulder to shoulder, so go early in the morning.
