Dongbaekseom is called an island but is now joined to the mainland. A loop through pine and camellia woods from the west end of Haeundae beach takes 30 to 40 minutes. At the tip stands the Nurimaru building where the 2005 APEC summit was held, with a mermaid statue by the water. On the far side, Gwangandaegyo bridge and the Marine City towers share one view.
