Founded in 678 on Mt. Geumjeongsan by the monk Uisang, this is Busan's main temple. A pine-lined path runs from the front gate to the main hall, and you feel you have stepped into a mountain temple within the city. Heritage buildings including the main hall and a three-storey pagoda stand inside. It is also known for temple stays, and in autumn red leaves cover the courtyard.
