This was the headquarters of the Joseon navy in Chungcheong. The stone fortress, built in 1509, runs along the hill above Ocheon port. Walk the wall and the harbor and sea lie below. Yeongbojeong is a pavilion facing the water, a favorite for sunset. Restoration work is ongoing, so what you see may have changed.
