Asan itineraries
Spa, Oeam and the lake by train
Ride Line 1 to its far end at Onyangoncheon, soak your feet, eat cold noodles, wander a stone-walled village, catch the sunset over the lake and finish with a hot-spring bath before the train home. A car-free Asan day from Seoul.
Water park and the northern fields
Day one is a hot-spring water park and boiled chicken at the market; day two heads north from lakeside bread to a hilltop church, a forest and a pot of pollock stew. Paced so kids and grandparents last the trip.
Three slow days: spa, old houses, valley
Night one is a sulphur spa at Dogo, day two is making gangjeong in Oeam and grilling at a valley pension in Songak, day three loops the Maeng house and Hyeonchungsa before a bowl of sujebi. Nothing is rushed.
